“At Viña de Liceaga, we capture the magic of the vineyard through our selected wines, so you can enjoy…México´s fine Wine”

What a peacefull, enjoyable Winery! It was a great experience to see this wonderful oasis, try their wines and know how a woman can lead the winery that her husband dreamed, started and worked with so much passion for longtime. Unfortunatelly he is gone, but he left a legacy and trained well his wife to keep showing the world that is possible to make good wines in México!

The Wines I tired were:
White “Castillo de las Minas” 100% Chenin Blanc.
Pale yellow color, it has a wonderful bouquet or fruity and floral aromas like pear, green apple, cantaloupe, guava, pineapple, jazmin, azhar and acacia. In mouth you´ll get tons or fruits and honey, but in a soft velvet sensation on your palate. A nice dry taste with good structure!
Tinto “Castillo de las Minas” A blend of Merlot and Grenache.
Young, fresh and very fruity wine with intense red-ruby colors, very typical of the young wines. It has an aromatic nose of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, cherry and cassis and a light wooden and vanilla note.A medium bodied wine with soft tannins. Great for tapas, snacks, salads, crepes, pasta and soft cheeses.
Merlot Viña de Liceaga , 100% Merlot.
This wine has Deep red rubi color and a very nice bouquet of forest fruits, some floral notes like carnation and spicy notes like clove, fine wood, toasted coffee and vanilla. Soft tannins, well balanced and a very elegant end. Great for a good steak and strong, fermented cheeses.
And their GREAT Merlot Gran Reserva , 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc
In my opinion, this wine is the star from Viña de Liceaga: it has a very dark color with an intense red granate tone; the aromas are a mix of fruits (black berry, black cherry and blue berry), flowers (Violet and Carnation) and spices (tar, vanilla, dark chocolate and cinnamon)
It has a very complex, clean and pleasant taste, a wine with great tannins that give it volume, structure, it´s a very elegant wine with a long lasting persistence. I simply loved it!!!

And we cant forget their new and GREAT Grappas !!!
Aqua de vid from pressed red grapes of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Barbera.
This Grappa is high quality! clean aromas, intense mature and dry fruits like plum, walnuts and almonds. It has a soft persistent
Aqua de Vid Moscatel
A distilled spirit without color, but full of taste and aromas like Orange juice and bit of spices like mint with a touch of almonds and honey, in mouth you get a clean, harmonic and persistent fruity flavors, with a soft and velvet textured, elegant end.
Both handled with the supervision of Italian professional experts.

Viña de Liceaga, a winery that is producing fine wines thought for the young crowd, this generation that is more and more interested in the wine culture, that enjoy a good conversation or a great fun around a good bottle of wine.
The winery of wineworth visiting with their beautiful vineyards, a big, shiny and elegant wine tasting room and an amazing cave.
salud…y Viva México !!!
